Copyright

The Copyright working group focuses on the professionalisation, knowledge sharing and coordination of the Copyright Information Points (AIPs) of UKB and a number of associated institutions, such as the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), the theological universities, the Open University and the University of Humanistic Studies.

Goal

AIPs have been set up at the institutions to support students, lecturers and researchers at the university with questions about copyright. These information points provide information on the university website, can be reached for questions via a functional e-mail address and provide workshops and training courses. The AIPs are also involved in the implementation of the Easy Access scheme and in the implementation of the new CopyrightCheck tool.
The working group is committed to professionalisation and knowledge building at the AIPs.
We do this by:

  • discussing common issues and sharing results in the network
  • staying up to date with news and developments, for example on AI and copyright
  • participating in the editorial board of Auteursrechten.nl
  • sharing knowledge about giving workshops and presentations
  • promoting national alignment on issues such as EAR, OER, Taverne and Rights Retention Strategy

The group meets several times a year; in the meantime coordination and/or discussion takes place via e-mail.
