Launch of The Netherlands Open Access Books Community

On 28 October, the (online) launch of the Netherlands Open Access Books Community will take place – a new platform designed as a meeting space for librarians and research support professionals in the Netherlands. The community aims to foster knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the sharing of resources and developments related to open access book publishing.

The launch event will feature a panel discussion on the sustainability of open access book publishing in the Netherlands. The session will be moderated by Bregt Lameris (Senior Lecturer, Open University of the Netherlands) and will bring together several experts:

  • Annie van den Oever – Extraordinary Professor of Film and Visual Media, University of Groningen

  • Dan Hassler-Forest – Lecturer in Media Studies, Utrecht University

  • Erna Sattler – Copyright Specialist, Leiden University Libraries

  • Juliana Costa Pitanguy – Publishing Operations Officer, TU Delft Open Publishing

The Netherlands Open Access Books Community aims to become a central hub for knowledge sharing and networking for everyone in the Netherlands involved in the transition to open access book publishing.
